My Story

I am a dedicated and passionate cyclist, I am goal orientated and have set goals in my sport. I have the ability to work in a group and individually to achieve my goals. Learning and growing is very important to me. Setbacks and challenges makes me more determined and contribute largely to my successes in my sport. I am able to adapt to different situations and have excelled in Track, Road and MTB Marathon racing.

In Grade 7 I was the Head Boy at “Laerskool Noord” in Oudtshoorn. I was previously coached by Barry Austen of LEADout Cycling academy as from September 2015 to December 2016. Barry has been instrumental in my development as a cyclist. Read more about Barry Austin.

Achievements in recent times that I am very proud of is my 1st place as a junior at the Cape Town Cycle Tour and Telkom 94.7 race. I have been competing in Spain From 17 June to 21 August 2016 for “Ciclista Club Colindres”. The highlight of this tour was winning the last two races and achieving a sprinters jersey in one of the multi-day races. During my stay in Europe I have competed in 11 races, 7 one day and 4 multi day races. My biggest achievement however was being selected for the South African Junior road team and representing my country in two road races, Luxenborg and Belguim.

At the end of 2016 I was awarded the Eden Cycling Junior cyclist of the year, best cyclist as well as the Presidents award. I was also the Junior Sportsman at the Eden Sport awards.

In 2017 I will be living my dream as a pro cyclist representing Team Dimension Data for Qhubeka Continental Team
